Project Brief

Factile, a popular educational platform used by over 2 million teachers and students, needed a way to make quiz creation faster and more efficient. They partnered with Deligence Technologies to develop AutoGen, an AI-powered tool that automatically generates quiz questions. The tool helps teachers create engaging classroom content without spending hours writing questions manually. AutoGen seamlessly integrates with Factile’s existing Jeopardy-style quiz format, making it user-friendly for educators who are already familiar with the platform.

Solution

Deligence Technologies developed AutoGen with three main features to address these challenges. First, they created a topic-based generation system where teachers can simply input a subject and subtopic to receive relevant questions instantly. For example, a teacher can select “Science” as the topic and “Solar System” as the subtopic to get grade-appropriate questions about planets and space.

Second, they added PDF upload functionality, allowing teachers to generate questions directly from their teaching materials. This feature lets educators upload textbook chapters or study guides and choose specific pages for question generation, ensuring the content aligns perfectly with their curriculum.

Finally, We implemented a token-based system to make the service sustainable and scalable. New users receive 500 free tokens, enough to generate about 40 questions, giving them a chance to try the system before committing. The tool also includes customization options for grade level, difficulty, and question quantity, ensuring the content matches student needs.

Results

AutoGen has transformed the way teachers create educational content on Factile. The platform now helps educators generate comprehensive quizzes in minutes instead of hours, with consistently high-quality questions across all subject areas. Teachers report spending significantly less time on quiz creation and more time on actual teaching and student interaction.

The token-based system has proven successful, with many users choosing to purchase additional tokens after using their initial free allocation. The PDF upload feature has become particularly popular among teachers who want to create quizzes directly aligned with their classroom materials. AutoGen’s integration with Factile’s question bank system also allows teachers to save and reuse generated questions, building a valuable resource library over time.
